White Tie Ball
Saturday we attended the White Tie Ball, hosted by BYU Women's Services. It was dinner, a presentation about fighting against violence (specifically, abuse against women), a performance by Alex Boye', and dancing. There was also a very powerful art display--photography of people who have been hurt by violence (Elizabeth Smart, a Holocaust survivor, and many more), and their stories. We was deeply touched. Many of the stories also talked about the person's faith in God and how that helped them through the awful situations they went through. It made me more grateful for what I have, and it helped me have a better perspective on my own life.
For those of you who don't know who Alex Boye' is, look him up. He has such powerful music. He is an LDS artist, and he sings with such soul and power. He is both Ben's and my favorite gospel artist. We were so lucky to have the opportunity to meet him! He is a very heartwarming, spiritual person.
I am so glad we went to the White Tie Ball. We learned a lot and felt the spirit very strongly.
